First and foremost, what is a design? A design is a  a plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or workings of a building, garment, or other object before it is built or made. Design is something affects our daily world but it’s safe to say that it’s not really noticeable to us unless it’s something that’s not appealing or “bad”. Don Norman who is the author of The Design of Everyday Things is concerned how things work, how they are controlled and the nature of interaction between people and technology. Don Norman also points out that good designs is actually a lot harder to notice than poor designs because good designs fits our needs so well that the design is invisible, serving us without drawing attention to it’s self. When we think of letters, do we just think about that it's apart of a word or do we see it as a form of art? Letters have become invisible to the fact that they're not just objects that are used in words, but rather as a form of art to represent the sounds, words, and information that we speak on which is a type of communication; verbal. In order to interpret these visuals in our brains and process them with their sounds, we have to understand what they represent. In essence, typography is the art of arranging letters and text in a way that makes the copy legible, clear, and visually appealing to the reader. Typography involves font style, appearance, and structure, which aims to elicit certain emotions and convey specific messages. Typography is what brings the text to life.
