Importance of Photographs & Visuals

         How important is a photograph and visual? That is the main question in today’s day and age where we live in a time of social media and heavy technology usage. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and it definitely is. Photography was developed with a heavy appeal in Western Europe and the U.S in the 19th century. Photojournalism began to develop right after newspapers found a way to get visuals in their readings. Because of this, photography became the stories and had a heavy influence to certain events. Looking at a picture is still very much different than watching a movie or show on television because when you look at a visual that doesn’t move, it gives you time to react, feel emotions, and think about the visual. Photography plays a role in freezing time for the viewer because while it is a still photo, it gives you time to look at the picture in terms of the way its sculpted, what’s going on in the image and looking in depth within the photo.           Let’s tal

The Intro: What is Visual Communication?

        Let’s start this post off with one question: How is visual communication expressed as form of communication? Using our verbal communication is a way to express ourselves and shows symbolism. When we use our verbal language, we use our voice, tempo, and loudness to show how much our words to mean to us. The word denotation means when we look at the dictionary for a word, and take that how it is. Even though we do this, there is more to the word than the basic dictionary definition. We use these words to help us express ourself, emotions, relate to stories, attitudes, not to just use the world strictly how it looks to us. When we hear of visual communication, we think its based on an expressive basis but words actually play a huge role in helping us communicate through visual communication. About Me, Myself & I

  Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. My name is Syedah Fatima but a lot of people call me Aliza, which is my middle name. I am 23 years old and is the youngest of three children. My mother is Guyanese and my father is Pakistani. I was born in Queens, Long Island and currently still lives here. I attend Brooklyn College and is a senior graduating in December as a professional communication major. I have a 4 year old cat name Leo who's the light of my life. Right now, I work for Department of Education as a para-professional with special-ed kids and that's when I realized I wanted to be a speech therapist in the public school system so I can help achieve's these children's dreams and be apart of that change. Some of my favorite hobbies are baking, hiking, traveling, drawing and reading a good novel every chance I can get.
